Morestone
In the 1940's Morris and Stone were a small London based wholesale toy company. They were distributors for many small toy manufacturers that could make toys but did not have the capacity to handle the marketing side of the business. Around 1948 Morris & Stone started to brand some of their range as "Morestone". in 1954 that Morestone joined up with one of the founders of Lesney products, Rodney Smith and they formed their own die-casting company.

Launched to coincide with the huge success of the third James Bond movie Goldfinger in 1964, Corgi's first James Bond Aston Martin had a working ejector seat, rear bullet-proof screen and front machine guns and rams - a level of features never seen before on a toy car. It was gold rather than the correct silver but that didn't stop it from flying off the shelves, winning toy awards and becoming one of the best-known toys of all time - and one of the most collectable Corgis ever!
