The Idea

Toy Collector is the brain child of a small team, all of whom were or still are avid collectors themselves. The idea is to have one site that combines the best of the various toy forums, your own blog, Youtube, eBay and other sites used by toy collectors and we believe that we are in the process of succeeding. Toy Collector can still be improved and we hope that you can tell us how.

The Team & Toy Backgrounds

• John Badawi (Design) tells us that when he was a kid, he used to mainly play with whole platoons of little green toy soldiers. Later he developed a great interest in Meccano, assembling plastic model kits such as Airfix and building off-road RC kits and set up a off-road rally tournaments with other dubbing RC enthusiast 
• Amrit Bhogal (Design) as a kid was fascinated with Meccano, building and destroying his creations. Also a very big fan of Scalectrix, creating huge inter-linking tracks in and out of his bedroom.
• Christian Braun (Content) had lots of exposure to Toy Soldiers and Model Cars and was a toy dealer during his studies
• Christopher Caruk (Ops & Technology) loves his Marvel Comics and related Action Figures
• LaToya Giocattola has always been into Dools and Space toys, her favourites are Blythe Dolls
• Shervin K (Technology) reports that he used to mainly play with whole platoons of little green toy soldiers, alongside the tanks and even jet fighters
• Pijian Liao (Technology) had numerous sets from Fuman, including 1/48 Panther and a 1/2000 USS New Jersey
• Omri Stephenson (Design) was a great fan of Matchbox Loops and Action Man’s Eagle Eyes.  Oh, and he loved his indestructible Tonkas

Our newest team member Rémi Lakomy (summer intern from the European Business School in Nice) favourites toys were Knights of Zodiac toys and M.A.S.K Toys.

Here Pijian’s Fuman 1913 Mercer Raceabout Vintage Car.  The company was founded in 1985 and has a close relationship to Bandai.
